Everitt

Abner Everitt inherited 100 acres of land in West Flamborough in 1849 when he became 16 years of age, according to his grandfather's will. His father, Daniel, died of unknown causes on his 25th birthday in 1835, before young Abner was 2 years old. His grandfather would die a year later and his mother in 1848. Before he himself died in 1909, Abner would have three wives. First was Lilly Malloy, whom he married in 1853, though whether that was before or after their son William's birth in March of that year is unknown. Lilly died in March of 1854 (maybe William was actually born in '54?) It seems Abner quickly found himself another wife and married Mary Ann Sovereign the same year, but that marriage did not last long as she died on January 6th, 1855. He waits awhile before marrying his third wife, Mary Tuck, in 1857. There is no mention of a child in the genealogy chart I found, but it is suggested that Mary's mother may have been also named Mary Ann which could explain the name of the 'Mary Ann' who died at 6 months in 1864. Both Lilly and Mary Ann, wives #1 & #2, are buried in  Job's Lane Cemetery. Abner and Mary and the son William, who lived until 1937, are buried in Waterdown Union Cemetery.

There are quite a few Everitts around, but it doesn't sound as if this particular side contributed many of them.
