actually, not that long. he scared the life out of me by running into the burrow, then kept popping his head out to see if I was gone. I wasn't, but to crouch down very still. at one point I was afraid he would lunge.
I quite honestly don't know what it is.... not a rat, but his snout is too pointed for a groundhog and not pointed enough for a possum. he ran so fast I never saw his tail or feet. maybe a juvie beaver?

I wondered how long you had to wait to get this shot? It is superb. And I would not want that little sucker to bite me! Look at those two front teeth!
