in the ground
one of several random gravesites with a name spelled out ... and nothing more
Millie looks as if she has been stepped on once too often

I wonder who remembers Millie.
Poor Millie...she's been driven into the ground! Yikes!
Another very unusual grave.
Hmmmm I wonder who she was?
What a lovely grave.
There's a stone bench over at the University of Richmond dedicated to Ethyl Bass that we like to sit on and watch the ducks. Her name is right under our seats and we feel like we have a personal relationship with her. This is a little different. But, as Coldplay likes to say , "Those who are dead, are not dead, They're just living in my head."
How unusual. Poor Millie.
I hate seeing grave markers absorbed into the ground. It's like erasing someone's existence.
This is an interesting alternative to a stone with the names carved into it.
Certainly a unique type of headstone.
i like it. although for strangers that generates so many questions! when? where? how old?
but maybe she was a very mysterious person and she likes it! :)
Beautiful photo of this mystery grave!
I am drawn to this as a flaneur: a seeker of the unusual; a learner. But as a taphophile, I am disappointed in the information supplied. At least we know it to be in remembrance of someone female, and for mine, a youngish female.
I really love the name Millie .. and Camille.
I like the font used. If this font were to be a set of stairs, they would be most steep.
I was really disappointed, too. There were other larger family stones around, but none included her name. I found it most unusual. And a bit sad.
What a wonderful find!
