Durand neighbourhood
Three generations of the McQuesten family lived in the house from 1852 until the house was bequeathed to the City of Hamilton in 1968.

Beautiful House, obviously well cared for. The green shutters go well with all the green around it.

this is now a museum with all the original furnishings.

There is a lengthy write up on Thomas McQuesten in wikipedia. He really did a lot for the public works in the region. Looks like he also had good taste in housing. Nicely captured by the way.
