I can't recall hearing of that when I lived in southern Ontario. I assume it is more recent.
this is new and they hope to expand it every year. the biggest one is still in Simcoe and then there is also Niagara Falls.

@Stuart, I did not. I didn't remember they were being lit for the first time last night when I was out for my coffee. This was taken with a point and shoot that I always have with me.
Worth a trip!
